I had the task of bringing banana pudding and cornbread salad this year. I love both recipes I have for these. The banana pudding recipe has to be the easiest one I have ever used and it tastes so yummy. This year I subbed mini vanilla wafers because Wal-Mart was out of the big ones. (Yes I was the crazy lady who waited till the last minute) I was the lucky winner and got the last box of wafers that were not fat free. :) Here is the recipe I have used several times!
The last thing I made was cornbread salad. I will share the recipe for this one also but please let me first say it sounds so nasty! I was very skeptical about making this dish... let alone for thanksgiving so my entire family could taste it and steer clear of it. The ingredients together just sound nasty but let me tell you... it was a hit! Everyone loved it I will for sure have to save this to make again! It’s also super easy... Yay for easy recipes!
Ingredients:
2 Boxes Jiffy Cornbread
1 Can (14.5oz) diced tomatoes
4 Green Onions Chopped
1/2 Jar real mayo (About 15oz)
1 Regular size bag Frito Chips
Bake the two boxes of Jiffy cornbread per directions on box. Set this aside and let cool, once cool crumble up cornbread and place in a large bowl. After crumbled add 1 can tomatoes with juice, green onions, and all of mayo. Mix all ingredients together until well mixed. Right before serving crumble up the entire package of fritos and stir into cornbread mixture. Tada! That easy!
This year we split Thanksgiving between two families since both our families live in town. Jason’s side started getting together at 11:30 at this aunts house so we decided to go there first and visit. I wish I would have brought my camera in with me but I forgot! :( We had a great time visiting for the short amount of time we had there. His family is so incredibly sweet and loving. I couldn't ask for better future in-laws!
After a few short hours visiting with Jason family we left and headed to my side of the family. They start the festivities/eating at 1:30 and we sure didn't want to be late to anything with food! This year was a large gathering at my moms... I think we had around 30 people there! My dad’s side of the family and my mom’s side of the family had one big gathering this year. I think that is just the neatest thing. To have both sides together for one holiday! Love it! I did remember to get the camera out at my mom’s so I do have a few pictures to share!
Yummy and half eaten!

After all the eats and looking at sales papers I took the kids to go see Tangled with my aunt, uncle, and two cousins. The kids LOVED it... such a cute movie! I suggest you all go see it with your kids or not! It was worth missing most of the Dallas game! Hope everyone had as wonderful of a Thanksgiving as we did. I hope you had many things to be thankful for this year!

That must be so nice to have both families in the same town! Makes for a long but fun day I bet! I want some banana pudding :)
